Most of you have probably heard about the devastation of the tornado in Moore, Oklahoma. In an effort to assist the families impacted by the tornado Vineyard is teaming up with Christian Life Center in disaster relief efforts. We will be accepting donations of hot dogs, hamburgers, buns, ketchup, mustard, individual sized chips and crackers, as well as bottled water. If you can help in anyway please bring them by the church, we have a freezer set up to store the hot dogs and hamburgers.
Once martial law is lifted from the town we will be immediately sending a team down to start helping with the cleanup process. For those of you that are interested in helping that have never dealt with disaster cleanup before I must advise you that you may be working for 24 hrs in adverse conditions. This is a very strenuous and stressful environment to work in. There is also possibility for injury to occur. In order to help prevent injuries we ask that you come prepared with work gloves, eye protection, and wearing appropriate work attire.
Most of the work will consist of clearing trees and assisting family members in sorting through their things. Tools that would be helpful include: shovels, rakes, and chainsaws. Trucks and trailers will also be very useful.
